The Platinum award winning Northampton Concert Band will be performing an evening of music from Great British composers on Saturday, March 2nd in ’Best of British’.
In their first concert of 2013, this 40 strong band of woodwind and brass musicians have been working hard during rehearsals to bring some new music to their repertoire for the busy year ahead.
In selecting the music for this concert Stephen Bell, Musical Director, said: “We wanted to celebrate the vast array of music that is British born. We have music from Elgar and Holst to more modern composers like Elton John and John Lennon. We are also preforming, Northampton born composer, Sir Malcolm Arnold’s English Dances (Set 1) and many more.”
The concert will be at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Sheep Street, Northampton, NN1 3NL on March 2nd, 2013. The event begins at 7.30pm and tickets are £10 and are available online from http://www.northamptonconcertband.org.uk/
